Cambodia VIP Airport Transfer — PNH, REP and Sihanoukville, Executed Without Gaps

May 13, 2026 · 7 min read · FFGR Cambodia VIP Team

Cambodia has three international gateways: Phnom Penh International (PNH), Siem Reap International (REP), and Sihanoukville International (KOS). Each operates differently. Each has different VIP access protocols. And each requires a different ground strategy for clients who travel at a level where the first impression of a country is set in the arrivals zone. FFGR Cambodia manages all three gateways with the same protocol precision, regardless of whether the flight is commercial first class or private charter.

PNH — Phnom Penh International

Phnom Penh International handles Cambodia's heaviest commercial traffic. The international arrivals hall is a single zone with a standard immigration queue and a baggage claim area that takes 20–40 minutes for most flights. For FFGR Cambodia clients, we use two mechanisms to reduce this to under ten minutes: fast-track immigration coordination through a licensed facilitation service, and a dedicated meet-and-assist officer who manages baggage identification and trolley positioning before the carousel loads.

Private aviation clients at PNH arrive at the executive aviation terminal on the airport's southern boundary. FFGR Cambodia positions the vehicle at this terminal 30 minutes before the estimated wheels-down time. For aircraft with confirmed ETA, we track the flight and adjust positioning accordingly.

REP — Siem Reap International

Siem Reap International is Cambodia's most tourism-focused airport. Arrivals from Bangkok, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur deliver large volumes of passengers simultaneously, creating congestion at immigration and in the taxi queue outside. FFGR Cambodia clients are met airside — inside the terminal, before immigration — by our REP representative who carries the client's name on a signed FFGR card, not a hand-written sheet.

The drive from REP to Siem Reap centre takes 12 minutes in standard traffic. FFGR Cambodia uses a designated departure lane from the terminal that bypasses the public taxi queue. The vehicle is pre-cooled. Destination hotel is confirmed before departure.

KOS — Sihanoukville International

Sihanoukville International handles primarily Chinese-routed traffic and seasonal regional services. The terminal is smaller than PNH or REP. Ground transfer times to the coastal hotel zone or the Koh Rong boat pier vary significantly by traffic. FFGR Cambodia uses a pre-positioned vehicle at KOS's arrival exit, avoiding the public transport queue entirely.

For connections requiring onward boat transfer to Koh Rong or Koh Rong Sanloem, FFGR Cambodia coordinates the boat pier timing with the airline arrival schedule. The minimum connection window from KOS arrival to boat departure is managed so clients do not wait at the pier.

Inter-Airport Transfers — The Domestic Triangle

Cambodia's three airports form a triangle: PNH to REP is 315 kilometres (4 hours by road or 45 minutes domestic air); REP to KOS is 450 kilometres (5.5 hours by road or charter); PNH to KOS is 230 kilometres (3 hours by road). For clients on multi-city itineraries, FFGR Cambodia manages all transfers within this triangle, including domestic flight arrangements and road transfers with appropriate vehicle class.

For clients arriving at one gateway and departing from another, FFGR Cambodia provides a single itinerary document covering all transfer legs. There are no gaps in service between legs. Each transition — hotel to airport, airport to airport — is managed as a single continuous service.

Departure Protocol

Departures require the same attention as arrivals. FFGR Cambodia calculates departure timing from the hotel based on current traffic conditions, check-in requirements (first class vs. economy, airline-specific procedures), and buffer time for unforeseen delays. We do not use average traffic times; we use current conditions accessed 90 minutes before departure.

For private aviation departures, we coordinate with the FBO regarding ground movement timing and ensure the vehicle arrives at the executive terminal with sufficient time for the pre-departure customs and security process. All passengers are checked in and at the aircraft before wheels-up time.

Multi-Passenger and Group Logistics

For groups of more than four, FFGR Cambodia operates multiple vehicles departing simultaneously. Group leaders receive a briefing on vehicle assignments, luggage procedures, and communication protocols before the transfer begins. All vehicles maintain radio contact and arrive at the destination within two minutes of each other.

For clients with significant luggage — photography equipment, sporting goods, diplomatic cases — we use a LandCruiser cargo transfer in addition to the passenger vehicle. No luggage rides in the passenger compartment. The cargo vehicle is pre-arranged, not improvised.
